UCONN reportedly working out deal with Mark Whipple

UCONN is expected to name Mark Whipple their new head coach sometime this week. Whipple was the Offensive Coordinator at the University of Miami and was relieved of his duties when new Head Coach, Al Golden came in.

My view: I feel that UCONN could have acquires a better coach than Whipple. Mike Edsall was a very good coach, And although their record was weak, they did win the Big East. Whipple had problems getting the offense of the Hurricanes rolling at times, especially in the red zone. Miami had a top 20 recruiting class consistently with solid offensive weapons, and Whipple had problems getting them to score points.

I think that ultimately this is a bad deal for UCONN, and I don't see them improving much on their 7-5 record from this year.
